chapbook series

report from port huron, mi

hello all.

for those of you who are not aware i, and subsequently plumberries press, have moved to the thumb of michigan for the summer. in this environment i’ve ample time and space and resource to continue work under the guise of the press and i am hoping to begin working more extensively on a chapbook series in between work on ‘humble humdrum’ and ‘drupe fruits’… i am currently finishing a chapbook for daniela olszewska to be celebrated in chicago mid-month… it being the third chapbook from the press.

so… i am at this time interested in seeing short manuscripts of 15-20 pages for consideration… plumberries is very invested in the tangible and will likely endeavor to produce a short run (generally 100) hand constructed and aesthetically succulent little books. i take great pride and time in producing these little gems, and in lovingly working as editor over a given manuscript to churn something of utmost cohesion contextually and aesthetically.

i am writing this rather quickly after downing a french press of yerba mate to myself… and squirming with the need to alleviate myself and vacate this cafe… so i fear this isn’t quite as eloquent as it should be… but… i am interested most in hybrid forms, work that isn’t too erudite, disjointed narratives, thematic work, collaborations, experiments, ‘organic esoterics’, and so on. i tend to lean towards effeminate work… which acknowledges vulnerability and universal mystery. work which is actively discovering.

so… yeah… please do direct any questions, etc…  or send manuscripts and short explanation of the endeavor or themes therein to plumberriespress@gmail.com

love,

edwin.
